Most stylists won’t charge more than $8-$15 for a bang trim or neck shaping and some will even offer it as a complimentary service. Either way, it’s much easier than managing your own hack-job for the next 2+ weeks!
A Colorado Cosmetologist license which offers further education on sanitation, sterilization, safety (and let’s be honest, those three alone are VERY important), permanent waving and chemical relaxing, hairstyling including iron curling and wet styling, massage, skin care, makeup, hair tinting and bleaching, hair cutting, manicuring and pedicuring, application of artificial nails, and laws and statutes, requires 60 Credit hours, or 1800 clock hours, and a passing score on licensing exams.
In Colorado, the Office of Barber and Cosmetology Licensure requires a person to complete 40 credit hours (1200 clock hours) at an approved school/program and earn a passing score on licensing exams to acquire a Hairstylist license. Furthermore, a Hairstylist license only allows a person to practice cutting and styling, braiding and extensions, hair coloring, facials, and salon management.
